New Retro

I can't believe how far behind I have got with this blog again.  Never mind here are the latest pictures.  I bought this lovely retro material in a sale and it just had to be made into a 60's style shift dress.
 Complete with bell sleeves..........
............. and a long matching scarf to wind round my neck or in my hair or even to use as a belt if I want a more fitted outfit.
To complete the outfit here are my latest purchases from Fairysteps.  Aren't they fabulous.

Happy Day's

Yesterday we had a knitty lunch at work.  A group of us got together at lunchtime with our knitting and had a good knatter.  There was cake, but sadly it got eaten before I took the picture.
This is how my jacket will look
I did some more of my crochet jacket using the red Drops Eskimo wool that I bought at the Knitting and Stitching show.  Other people were knitting socks, a lacey scarf and crochet slippers.

When I got home I found that my new felting book had arrived

I was so inspired that I quickly whisked up a small sample of nuno felt.  I have plans for a much larger scale piece in the near future.

Then today I finally managed to get to the Post Office to pick up my parcel, and opened it to reveal these Beauties.
They are from Ren at Fairysteps (http://www.fairysteps.co.uk/) and I can thoroughly recommend her fantastic leather goods.  Superb quality, fabulous design and craft(wo)manship and totally unique. I have quite a few pairs of shoes and boots from her already and I wear them all the time, they are so comfortable and durable.  In fact I think they get better with age!

I'm feeling especially pleased with this pair as they go so well with my new bag.

I'm off to pack my bag now as I'm going to my mum's for a few days.

Time for a change

I have been wearing a lot of black recently and very little colour.  My boss says that black suits me as I have a pale skin, personally I think that without makeup it makes me very vampire like and as I just discovered that I am pale because I am slightly anaemic I'm not sure that is a good reason to wear black! My other friend says that it's slimming and elegant.  However I have been quite down recently and I'm sure that wearing black is not helping my mood.

I was quite disappointed when I went through the clothes I have been wearing recently to find there was a lot of totally black outfits, so I have to find new to introduce more colour.  With this in mind I visited a shop during my lunchbreak and brought some lovely ribbons to quickly update and introduce some colour.
As you can notice there is also some sewing thread and a zip for my next project.  Here's the first colour introduction.  Some cerise pink ribbon through a pair of black and grey shoes.  They are now going to match perfectly with a pink black and grey tunic that I made earlier in the year.  Sorry that it still does include black, especially as it will be worn with black jeggings - but I can't have a complete new wardrobe!!
Pictures of the outfit will be shown tomorrow.
